Grandpa is an acrobat
Interesting story... I just learned that Grandpa accidentally locked himself out of the house, he didn't have his phone with him and didn't know my phone number. Well, he knew a nearby window was unlocked. However, it's a challenge for me to climb through so I can't imagine how he got through it. But he did it without breaking any bones. They did hide a key so that won't happen again. I still have a hard time picturing Grandpa climbing through windows :)

As of Thanksgiving 2009
I asked my Mom to arrange for Grandpa to wear his favorite sweater because I wanted to do a mini photo shoot for him to get a new picture for his blog. So here you go! This is Grandpa just after having turkey dinner last week. As you can see, he is quite content.

If any of his family or friends want a full size version of this photo, then please leave an email address in the comments and I will send it.

War stories and a message to Shae
Grandpa tells a story about how he got sick during WWII while in the service. It has some humor to it, he kept accepting cough medicine from different nurses and it put him to sleep for a long time.
This next experience happened after he recovered from his bad cough, he and some guys went out to explore.
And this one is mostly for Shae, sorry for taking so long to get it up. It was the last one in my "grandpa" file and I had forgotten it was a special message.

Merry Christmas
Grandpa wants to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. He misses everyone, especially his grandchildren in Arizona. Here are a couple of new videos for you to enjoy. Grandpa tells stories about how the war affected him and some of the changes he made when he joined the church.

A much younger Albert
Grandpa was a part of Company H, 272nd and here he is with a fellow GI. This was taken in Shelby, Mississippi in May or June of 1944 right after an all night long training march. The soldiers were relieved that the 17 mile march was over and stopped at an arcade that took pictures. The chosen background is a fake bar scene perfect for GIs. Albert is on the right, but the one on the left is unknown. If you happen to know who the other GI is, then please contact us.

Back from Arizona
It was nice to see family again, but sad to visit under these circumstances. Grandpa shared a few words about James which I will recount; "James was fun and had a nice smile. I always appreciated his spirit." Here are some pictures I took of Grandpa during his stay.
