A much younger Albert
Grandpa was a part of Company H, 272nd and here he is with a fellow GI. This was taken in Shelby, Mississippi in May or June of 1944 right after an all night long training march. The soldiers were relieved that the 17 mile march was over and stopped at an arcade that took pictures. The chosen background is a fake bar scene perfect for GIs. Albert is on the right, but the one on the left is unknown. If you happen to know who the other GI is, then please contact us.

Back from Arizona
It was nice to see family again, but sad to visit under these circumstances. Grandpa shared a few words about James which I will recount; "James was fun and had a nice smile. I always appreciated his spirit." Here are some pictures I took of Grandpa during his stay.

Flying back to Arizona
James, Bruce's son and grandson to Albert, died on February 2nd in a car accident. Grandpa and I will be flying to Arizona on Thursday to attend the funeral. To those who didn't know, Bruce also died just last month. It is tragic news especially for his immediate family who've lost 2 people in the last 30 days. Hopefully we can take comfort that he has been reunited with his dad and Father in Heaven.
